How Do I Get This Blasted Thing Open?

I remember, when I was a wee-little rogueling, that my parents had one corkscrew in the house. It was the typical silver two handled jobby. I used play Jumping Jack or Swimming Guy with it.... Kept me entertained for minutes. Jump ahead 30 years... Now going corkscrew shopping can be almost as confusing as trying to understand a German wine label... Almost. I just did a simple Google Shopping search for "Corkscrew" and 18,605 listings later thought my eyes were going to fall out of my head.

Stained Blue Dress (Wine Stain ... that is.)Removing Wine Stains

Opps!  So someone you know and loved spilled a bit on your clothes.  Well no worries... if its wine, that is.  At your own risk (we take no responsiblity for ANYTHING) just mix up about ten ounces of water with two tablespoons of salt.  (The better the fabric... the less salt you should use.)

Use cool (not cold) water.  So next time someone says "I did not stain that dress" you can remove all the evidence before the Grand Jury meets.

Bark of the Cork TreeHas the Cork Tree been Screw (ed Topped)?

If you frequent the wine section of your local liquor store, you may have noticed a trend. The traditional wood cork has become an endangered species. It has long been accepted that cork is really the worst way to seal a wine, but until recent years what other choices did we have. Cork is porous and prone to bacterias, mold, or drying out.
